Showcasing a worthy cause

Today's Sunday Showcase is a Folksy shop that not only sells cute items, but all proceeds are going to the Alzheimer Society. Spaldilocks will be off on a London to Paris Cycle ride soon, so support her now by digging out a few coins for items such as this adorable owl card.

Makes and more

First off, another cool find on the superhighway of life. Check out this deliciously simple Fishing Rod game to make from Just Another Day in Paradise. As I have been having a bit of a fishy moment thanks to my costume making efforts earlier this month, this really appeals. So simple, but you know how much they'll love it!

Over here, I've been idling. It's the first week of the holidays and I don't seem to be able to craft and have the kids 24/7! Still I managed to get a bit done and have started on some little bags. The idea for these is that they are big enough to carry a doll in (ie long) but not too big for a small person. Trials are in progress!! Anyway, at least I can showcase some of lovely fabric and buttons that I have been hoarding.

Cute Skirt

Just looking out some good patterns to use as I try to nobly 'reassign' stashed fabrics and worn out clothes. I found this super cute 'Market Skirt' Pattern at Made, which I reckon could be a great way of using (nb to self, say 'upcycling') some old clothes I have knocking around. The pockets also call for some new funky buttons, from the Swap, of course - Will keep you posted. Now children are in bed I have to go eat my choccie buttons (see previous post!)

Happy Saturday!

Just got back from an almost 100% perfect saunter around Bishop's Palace with the babies, and what was on my mat but the fruits (so soon!) of the Noodle Bubble Button Swap. What a lovely selection and they came with chocolate buttons too! Truely a queen amongst buttoners, she who sent them. Am now having button performance anxiety as I hope she likes the selection I sent her!

Actually had a wobble in the post office as I got to the counter and realised I had parcelled them up in a craply fat way so they wouldn't fit through that stupid 'large letter' slot they make you adhere to now. AAAAGGGHH. I unpicked the package (thank god my Mary Poppins-style handbag contains sellotape) and redid it thinner. When I handed it back to the woman, she deadpanned 'Sometimes you have to learn the hard way'. ???!!!! Thank you So Much For That Completely Patronising Comment. Luckily nothing can steal my sunshine. I have bought bright cake tins, sail boat braid, red salad spoons and no food for tea. La di da.
