Spring Shopping 2014 - Pretty Picks from Etsy and beyond

I have been feeling the Spring Love lately and starting to look around for some more 'of the moment' clothes and accessories. The sun is out! There might be weddings and summer fun just around the corner. Apparently we are all supposed to be wearing pastel colours, florals and statement necklaces. Not sure if that fits in with my generally grunge-tastic lifestyle, but a girl can dream of being soignee and having a fashionable wardrobe, right? Excellent Thrifting

Browsing the local charity shops is always a joy, and as I am currently in a wardrobe funk (who isn't; one minute it's 30 degrees, the next, monsoon wedding again) I have been on the lookout for finds to perk me up. Lucked out this week as I got a Brand! New! Still Labelled! White Stuff! cardigan and a pretty skirt. Add in a couple of books for the girls and I still only spent £11. I thank you.

Is it so wrong...?

to find a vintage knitting pattern and really want to knit three jumpers just like the picture so that we all (all the ladies - men are exempt) have matching jumpers?! I have never felt like this before. In fact, I would have said that I was implacably against dressing your children alike, let alone like you. Now this. I fear some madness is upon me. 

 

Also I would just like to show you this picture because I spend most of my day gazing on the real thing which is magnificent and kissably fat around the cheeks area. So damn cute and I made it myself. I am possibly committing the parental sin of favouritism, but it is only temporary because he will soon turn into a shoe refusing, smart talking, mother botherer like the others ;-)

Blouse Pattern Saga

I have been soliciting advice over on Sew Retro about a blouse pattern that I bought at Vintage at Goodwood. It is a size 18 and I am a size 10. And not skilled personally in the pattern rescaling dept. But hey, you don't refuse a 1950's sewing pattern that's less than £3 do you?

Vintage at Goodwood

was so awesome. They even had den building, a sand pit and a roller disco, so the smalls were well entertained. Got lots of inspiration, saw loads of great outfits (!) and had a giggle at the Chap Olympics. Wonderful stuff.
