Apple and Rosewater Cupcakes - Random Recipe

As previously explained I had a lot of sugared rose petals looking for a raison d'etre this week, so we created this recipe, like a summer frankenstein, out of carrot cakes and neccessity. Also I bought Rosewater in a weak moment last year and it's quite hard to find recipes to use it up in. Try these if you dare......

Ingredients:

100g Brown Sugar
160ml Sunflower Oil
2 eggs
1 tblsp Rosewater
200g Self-Raising Flour
150g Grated (cooking) Apple

Preheat oven to 180 (GM4)

Beat the eggs, then add to the sugar in a large bowl.
Mix in the oil, and rosewater.
Sift in the flour, then finally fold in the grated apple.

Spoon into 12 bun cases and bake for 20 mins until well risen.

Remove to wire rack to cool

We put a little pink coloured water icing on top of ours, with the sugared rose petals.

Berries berries everywhere

The garden is positively heaving with berries of the non-edible kind, and crab apples, and leaves. All the wonderful oranges and yellows of autumn having one last gasp, I think, before the winter really sets in. Eat birdies eat!

Pumpkin! and a Sunday Showcase - Clare's Creations

Hi all. Have been enjoying a sunday stroll in the lovely grounds of Hinton Ampner. I always enjoy looking around the impressive walled garden there and pondering when I should start to grow more veg! At the moment of course it's all wonderful glossy chard and beetroot, with a huge and glorious display of pumpkins, no doubt ready for Halloween.

We've just got one small one, which I got from the local greengrocers, rather than a huge pile, and here it is modelling my latest make, some royal blue hair bows designed to be school uniform suitable. They will never make it to the folksy shop, alack, they have already been claimed and carried away to my daughter's lair.

As it is Sunday I have been busy promoting a fellow Folksy seller in my Facebook Showcase. This week it's Clare's Creations, who make a range of sweet handmade cards and also lovely knitted items. I particularly like her snake mitts. These may be the answer for a boy who won't wear his gloves!
